The oldest news agency in the world, Agence France Presse (AFP), recently published their top photos of 2012 and, honestly, the list is filled with stunning and, in some cases, heartbreaking images. There will be many of these lists as the year comes to a close and it will undoubtedly be interesting to see the photographs that celebrate, mourn or simply document the human experience over the past 12 months.
